"The reason we picked the Model 2700 from Unique Machine and Tool was because it was capable of making a complete door with one piece of equipment, " explained Ardis. According to Fries, the ultimate machine in
the package was the Unique 250 door machine. "If I didn’t have the Unique, I couldn’t produce a third of what I am doing now, " says Fries. "It cuts everything — tennons, rail grooves, profiles, and raised panels. " Fries is also impressed that all the heads are on one spindle, and, rather than having to change the heads out, all the operator has to do is chose the head he needs and the spindle moves up or down to that head.

| When the products have been coated on both sides, the heads on the Unique 375 are changed, and the machine is used as a finish sander. Kampfer explains, "We change the speed on the Unique and make the necessary adjustments. We run the product through at about 75 fpm and finish sand both sides at once. According to Hingtgen, the 313 produces a much stronger joint and can produce a door in almost one-half the time it took the other machine.
